You Deserve The Best

These are unprecedented times. Uncharted territory. Having to shut down my massage practice initially came from a place of wanting to keep my clients and family safe. I felt nervous, because my practice was really begin to experience a growth stage again. Then as time progressed I decided to enjoy the time with my children and make sure that I utilized all that extra time to the best of my ability. I did not expect that I would be launching my second business in a completely different industry!

I opened Roots Chocolate & Flowers, LLC., and chose to vend out of the Indoor Freight House Farmers Market. I am grateful for the time away from my practice in the sense that it allowed me to get this business started, and have been able to involve my family in the process of growing the plants (they were also very willing participants in tasting the truffles). It has also led to me following thru on Herbalist training that has been on my hit list for years. I will be vending at the Farmers Market on Saturdays Outdoors, and then come June 6th the Indoor Market (which I am a part of) will open to the Public. Eventually I will be vending every Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday evening. I will not lie…playing in dirt and creating chocolate creations is curiously therapeutic and creates joy for me. It has given me the ability to collaborate with other locally owned small businesses and supporting local is something that is important to me.

In the midst of this time away I also signed up for a number of classes/seminars that were offered via Zoom and online. Every time that I sign up for a class/seminar it typically means that I have to close my practice to attend and travel out of state. This pandemic has allowed for some great learning opportunities!

I have said this before, but I choose the classes/seminars by what will best serve my clients and what has been asked for. One of the classes was not one that will count towards renewing my licensure, but can be counted with modalities that do not require my clients to disrobe. Sound Healing is the utilizing music to bring about positive change for the physical and emotional body. In most cases it does not even require physical contact. I have always loved music and played a couple instruments when I was younger. In the last 3 years, I really started to study how different frequencies and tones can impact the body. There was also the added nudge from hearing from contemporaries that had taken the class and shared their experiences. I am patiently waiting for my instruments to arrive, and will be adding this as an option to my appointments.

There was another level of care that for the last few years I felt was missing. Over 18 years I have had the privilege to be trusted with my client’s stories, as well as the stories that their body’s hold. This is a sacred trust. To honor that I decided to delve into Trauma Informed Care work, and have been looking into Somatic work as well. I recently completed training in Trauma Informed Care, and in the midst of more learning modules from Dr. Stephen Porgues. It was important to me to add this because I want my space to be considered a safe judgement-free space for my clients.

In the progression of getting all the above in place, I have decided to change the direction of my practice to be more Treatment Plan based. This helps my clients make their health and implementing massage therapy as a priority. I am offering a 20 minute (max) free consultation/screening to discuss your health goals and create with you a treatment plan that will be revisited often to ensure your needs are being met. Clients will notice that gone are individual service choices, and in their place an All-Inclusive Appointment option. I was already gravitating to this model, because I have felt that it was so “car salesman pitchy” to do “upgrades” or offer a laundry list of services that most did not know the benefits of.

All-Inclusive appointments will mean that each of my clients have a true access to all of my education/training and 18+ years of experience. Gone is trying to decide or decipher what service would best serve a client’s body! Each client will ALWAYS receive the highest level of care. The treatment plan aspect allows for actual goal planning. Clients will not have to worry about coming in with 5 Alarm Pain/Dysfunciton body issues and only 60 minutes to address tiny tidbits of those alarms. Then feel only marginally better a couple days better. Who actually wants that? Let’s work together on getting resolutions.

What will be available in a couple weeks is the Free 20 minute Consult/Screening (discussed above), 60 minute “Spotwork Appointment” (focuses on a single complaint), and a 90-120 minute “Full Appointment” (focuses on treating complex complaints/full body & will always include a Premium Hand Treatment ($25 value)).

I will be implementing a VIP Client Program that entails all my most loyal clients receiving the best of the best that I have to offer! These clients will get Premium bottled water at every appointment, Premium Hand or Feet Treatment, a choice of one of my Roots Chocolate Custom Handmade Truffles (there are Keto- & Wine-based options), & Premium pick of appointment times done in person to ensure they get the time that works best for them. Being VIP means that clients also are making a serious commitment to receiving regularly scheduled care. The result from making that choice is that clients will no longer need to experience 5 Alarm pain and dysfunction. Not choosing to be VIP does not mean that clients will receive less! They will get the highest level of care. It just means that their appointments are more sporadic, will be whatever is first available and can be scheduled online, will receive bottled water, and a store bought truffle.

I look forward to working with each of client to take their health & wellness at a whole other level!

As usual…Here is to YOUR Health & Wellness!
